for my sporadic MFC times this month. I’ve been having some health related issues that have deterred me from getting online as often as I’d like. It’s nothing super serious, and I appreciate any concern you may have, but *please* don’t ask me about what it is, it’s just something I’d rather not talk about. I appreciate you guys being there when I am around, and all of your support and love, always. Hopefully next month will be better, and I will see y’all a lot more. We’ll play it by ear. Thanks for sticking with me <3
This stuff is really awesome and working for me better than anything with chemicals. I had stopped using the most popular deodorants about a year ago and switched to the Arm and Hammer “natural” stuff, then found it that still contains triclosan, which is actually under review with the FDA right now (not that the FDA’s approval means anything, but I digress…) and in my mind not necessary to put in a deodorant. Anyways, just because this worked for me doesn’t mean it will work for everybody, but I’m sure as hell happy with the results. It works better for me than the most popular deodorants out there used to.
My recipe…
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup cornstarch
5 tablespoons coconut oil
20 drops of tea tree essential oil
5 drops of lavender essential oil
Mix the baking soda and cornstarch together in a small container or bowl, then add the coconut oil and any essential oils (tea tree is great as it has many lovely properties, such as being antimicrobial and a fungicide) you wish to use. Mix well until everything is incorporated. Best way to describe the consistency is a liquid-y paste, if you think it’s a bit *too* runny you can add a touch more baking soda to the mixture. If it’s cool enough in your house and coconut oil is solid at your home temperatures, you’re lucky and can keep it in an empty deodorant container and use as you normally would. My house is too warm and coconut oil is in it’s melted state, so I just scoop a little on my fingers and apply that way. Try it! It’s better for you AND cheaper than the chemical stuff. And just may surprise you with how well it does the job. If anybody tries it, I’d love to know if you like it too!
